Sinopsis

"Las gordas no se enamoran, se antojan" fue lo último que el santero Domingo y su compadre Pepelucho escucharon decir en el bar "La Corajuda", antes que el oscuro "Sapo Estívaris" los hiciera llamar para encargarles la fabricación de una virgen de tamaño natural, y pedirles su traslado hasta San Mateo, pueblo escondido en el corazón de los Yungas paceños, iniciando así un viaje a través de sus sentimientos.

Habiendo escuchado la conversación, Joaquín, un apostador que permanetemente desafía al destino, se brinda a llevarlo en "La Ramona", una vieja camioneta prestada que él hace pasar por suya.

Una vez elaborada la virgen, los tres inician el viaje en "La Ramona" descendiendo desde la ciudad -a 4.700 metros de altura- hasta llegar a zonas tropicales donde la presencia de la naturaleza y sus posiciones ante la vida determinan una tensa pero equilibrada relación entre ellos.

La fe de uno en Dios y la fe del otro en el juego y el azar, acaban cruzandose en un desenlace imprevisible donde se pierde la noción de realidad.

Synopsis

"Fat girls do not fall in love, they just wish" was the last thing Domingo "El Santero" (a saint maker) and his Pepelucho listened at the bar "La Corajuda" before the wicked "Sapo Estívaris" calls them to order the fabrication of a natural size virgin. He also asked them to carry the image to San Mateo, a lost village in the heart of a peculiar jungle calle Yungas, starting a trip through their characters feelings.

Joaquin, a risky gambler always challenging destiny, who had listened their talk, offers himself to carry the image in "La Ramona", an old lended truck that he uses as his own.

Once the virgin was made up, the three of them begin the trip in "La Ramona", coming down from the city -at 4300 mts. height- until they arrive to the tropic where nature presence and differences among them, cause a tense but equilibrated relation.

Faith in God and faith in gambling crosses an unexpected ending where reality get lost.
